We just had an amazing day! Teaching Teachers is my ultimate goal and I had my chance today, and was it ever rewarding!! My passion for the arts is so strong, I just want everyone to have a chance to love it, at least once. So many of us are told at a young age either through someone else, or by ourselves that we don't have artistic talent and so we just stop. We stop making art FOREVER. It's silly but us humans are pretty sensitive. So if I can bring those people to love art again, my mission is accomplised. So because of this inner drive I love to teach children and have a chance to get them connected to art in a way that is responsibly taught. However, having a chance to teach elementary teachers doesn't get much better than that. Hopefully my passion for art will rub off on them and they can share it with their students. And thus, the passion multiplies!
Just look at these beauties coming alive! The theme was 'Starry Mountains', my new addition to the Painted Unicorn Gallery. All of our paintings are designed by us. And this event with these teachers was held at the Burnaby Lake Rowing Pavillion, in Burnaby, BC. What a lovely place! Lots of windows with natural lighting.
This man masterfully painted mountains, I am in awe of their talent, as always! I am ALWAYS blown away by people's talent. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of all of them, but I did manage to sneak this one in before he left. So glad I had to chance to capture it, it truly is beautiful! And keep in mind that these are done in 2 hrs. I don't call any of the paintings masterpieces because we only have 2 hours, and it is gimicky, but I am incredibly awed by what they CAN produce in such a short amount of time. I would love to see what they could do in a real art class, working on a piece for weeks...If they only knew the real talent they all behold.
More Lovelies painted by the teachers' group.
And the Group Photo!! I don't always get a group shot in, so I am thrilled to have one of this group. It's a bit fuzzy but it gives you an idea of the artwork they produced. It is definitely much more beautiful to see in person, the camera doesn't do it justice, but these were really terrific.
I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to work with this wonderful group of Teachers in Burnaby. I took a long break this summer, so this was a perfect way to get back into the swing of things.
If you're looking for an office party, or an event for a Pro-D Day, get in touch with me and I will see how I can help you out.
